Solid star is a Nigeria Afro Pop singer whose style is described as a mix of Reggae, R&B and Pop music.

Also known for his strong producing and song writing ability, Solid Star was born Joshua Iniyezo the eastern part of Nigeria “AVIARA” and Isoko speaker. The singer born in 1988 to Mr. and Mrs. INIYEZO is comfortable singing in English and the Isoko Ibibio Yoruba and Ibo language.

His musical talents were discovered early in church as he became a active member of the choir picking up the drums as his instrument of choice. After making an impression in the church he was urged by his choir master to take his abilities seriously which a young Solid Star didn’t take notice of in the beginning but later came round to. Based in the popular city of Lagos, a young Solid Star was spotted performing in a local talent competition by a record label executive. After the chance meet with the label executives, Solid Star quickly signed up to the label Achievas Entertainment.

His debut album in 2010 titled “one in a million” spawned the huge hit “One in a million” which became an African anthem featuring one of the Africa’s biggest Afro Pop star 2Face Idibia. 2face said about Solid Star “his ability as a singer, producer and performer is rare especially or someone as young as him, when he asked me for the duet, I was very excited to be a part of the song”.

Solid Star who is inspirited by the likes of R.Kelly and TuFace Idibia says “I’m a very spiritual person” and he believes his writing skills come from mixture of his experiences in life and his belief in God. Since the huge success of his debut album, Solid Star has toured with some of Africa’s most popular artistes like 2face Idibia, Wizkid and many more.

His talent also took him to Europe and United States of America performing on the same stages alongside other greats artistes around the world.  Solid Star who his grandmother referred to as “a young man with a kind heart” is known to support charitable causes and he believes entertainment should have a strange sense of social responsibility to their community and fans. He has lent his voice to causes such as “one man one vote “which was his native country Nigeria’s campaign to encourage young citizens to exercise their right to vote and more recently his world cup theme song in support of the Nigeria Super Eagles  “Super eagles” quickly became the unofficial anthem chosen by fans supporting the national team.

The charming young man isn’t scared of pushing boundaries and he became the first musician in West Africa to release a debut album featuring music video of some of the songs providing a unique audio-visual experience to fans. After the heights attained by his first solo project, his second album titled “Grace & Glory” a twenty two track project was released in 2013 to good reception from music fans and critics alike. Again Solid Star delivered a new set hit song and floor fillers for his fans including monster hit “Oluchi” Ft Afro Hi-Life Super star Flavour N’bania.

Since the release of his second album Africa music observers have hailed Solid Star as one of a few stars to take Afro-R&B beyond the African shores.

Two brilliant offerings (“CONFUESD”,2010 and ONE MAN ONE VOTE”,2011 plus the revolutionary OMOTENA (2012) and almost two dozen hit collabos later, the Aviara, Delta State native has proved his class, versatility and staying power beyond doubt and earned the status of a superstar.
